The JBG Companies recently responded to community requests made during CSNA's March meetingregarding their proposed U Street Hotel project to be built at 13th and U Streets, NW.

JBG has provided updated images and studies pertaining the U Street hotel.  Links to all of the new files from JBG are provided below.

In addition to the removal of the 10th floor and reducing the streetlevel height to 87 feet - U Street Hotel Loses a Floor and 12 Rooms - JBG has also added a cantilever condition in the rear of the building along the alley which has reduced the footprint of the building at the ground floor, and will free up an additional 5 feet adjacent to the alley

JBG has also completed the shadow studies and an updated site section (line of sight view) of the building which both illustrate the impact of the building.

The U Street Hotel project had been placed on the agenda of the April meeting of the DC Historic Preservation Review Board ( HPRB), but CSNA has submitted a request for deferral until formal comments can be submitted by CSNA.  At the May CSNA meeting, Thursay, May 14, JBG Companies will be presenting and requesting CSNA's support for the project.

CSNA continues to collect information from the neighborhood, JBG, the DC government, and others, and is making it available on the CSNA U Street Hotel project page: ustreethotel.csnadc.org .
