
Thursday, May 10 General Meeting Information
U Street Neighborhood Association will have its general meeting on May 10, 2012 at the Third District Pollce Station community room at 7 pm. DDOT will give updates on the U Street streetscape. The office of Planning will be providing an overview of the PUD process. JBG will be providing updates and describe the variances they are requesting for the project at Florida/8th Street. Hiba Abdallah will be presenting on a facility planned to be built at 9th/S St NW for individuals aging out of the foster care system. Also Zahir Rahimi (owner of Mila 2015 14th St) will describe his desire to change this clothing store to a restaurant. We will also be discussing the U Street Neighborhood Harrison Recreation Center film series starting in May.

Between Friends
The roll call hearing was held on Dec 15. CSNA was granted standing as a protestant. The ABRA chair instructed the owners of Between Friends to contact protestants to set up a meeting to discuss grievances. The business is in Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Prior to the next CSNA meeting, Dee Hunter will contact ABRA counsel to set up a meeting to discuss effect of bankruptcy on the ABC license process. Alan Rosenthal will also attend meeting. Marco Santiago is the contact person who will expedite receipt of police reports. Peter Nevenglosky is collecting the reports.
Kili's Kafe & Lounge
The Business is requesting a renewal of their CN03 license. The hearing date is on Jan 12. CSNA is the only protestant. Alan Rosenthal will attend hearing to gain standing in the process. Jim Graham has signed the CSNA letter of protest. His office will provide background information and legal support in the case. Myla Moss will be representing the interests of the LeDroit Park Civic Association in the protest.
The ABC Committee will be seeking background information and legal support from Councilman Graham’s office.
Peter Nevenglosky will be collecting reports on police calls for service at the establishment.
Voluntary Agreement Template
The VA template was reviewed and changes were suggested to the section on Grievance Procedures. Nicole Streeter will update the template.

Other Items
Dukem Restaurant was discussed. The restaurant becomes a club after 11:00. Alan Rosenthal reported that the music from the club is loud enough to be heard halfway down 12th St. Phil Spalding said that with a complaint like this, he could request an ABRA investigation.
