On August 10th, 2011 there was a public safety walk-through including representatives of neighborhood associations (Sushupta for U St. Neighborhood Association); MPD; Mayor's office (Dep. Mayor for public safety and justice Paul Quander; Mayor's Community Liaisons for Ward 1 - Sedrick & Juan); DCRA; and ANC representatives. This walk was focused on highlighting areas of concern focused around the 6th & T St NW area. During the walk many issues that could lead to improved public safety were identified and assigned to specific city services. This walk covered about 10 square blocks and was a great assist in continuing to improve public safety issues around 7th & T, for which U Street Neighborhood Association has been working on a regular basis with MPD/CM Graham/Mayor's office to make our neighborhood safe and friendly. Thanks to Juan Camillo Barragan for setting this up. Following are some photos from the event, and some of the action items that Sushupta had reported on.
