    The U Street Neighborhood Association's Public Safety Committee works with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) - the officers and leadership of the Third District and PSA 305 - and other community organizations, including ANC 1B, LeDroit Park Civic Association, MidCity Business Association, Howard University Police, and neighbors to address public safety issues in the Greater U Street Neighborhood and PSA 305 community.

  • Friends of Harrison Recreation Center  ( 7 items )
    The Friends of Harrison Recreation Center is an official DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Park Partner, and was formed in 2009 as a project of the U Street Neighborhood Association, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit which has been working for nearly 20 years to improve and maintain the quality of life and advocate for everyone in our Greater U Street neighborhood.

    The Friends of Harrison Recreation Center works directly DPR to involve the community on how to improve the recreation center through capital improvements and design changes, and to enhance management and programming of the park, with the goal of making Harrison Recreation Center a better designed, cleaner, safer, and better managed park in the neighborhood for all to use and enjoy.

    The Business Development Committee works with residents, ANC 1B, the District government, and the business community to address concerns, business impact, and quality of issues regarding operations of all businesses and alcoholic license holders in the Greater U Street Neighborhood area.

    The Green Committee works on environmental issues and to beautify and keep the Greater U Street Neighborhood area green and clean.  By coordinating green and eco-friendly initiatives, annual neighborhood clean-ups, planting days, and other special events, the Green Committee helps keep our U Street neighborhood green in more ways than one.
