Thursday, May 10 General Meeting Information
U Street Neighborhood Association will have its general meeting on May 10, 2012 at the Third District Pollce Station community room at 7 pm. DDOT will give updates on the U Street streetscape. The office of Planning will be providing an overview of the PUD process. JBG will be providing updates and describe the variances they are requesting for the project at Florida/8th Street. Hiba Abdallah will be presenting on a facility planned to be built at 9th/S St NW for individuals aging out of the foster care system. Also Zahir Rahimi (owner of Mila 2015 14th St) will describe his desire to change this clothing store to a restaurant. We will also be discussing the U Street Neighborhood Harrison Recreation Center film series starting in May.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH LAUNCH!!!! February 28th, from 7:30pm – 9:30pm at corner of 13th & W St. NW at 7:30 starting with a MPD walk-through and with a meet and greet with Lt. Harrington at Ulahs Bistro (upstairs) at 8:30.
Learn more about what you can do to stop crime in our neighborhood!
- 7:30 -meet at the corner of 13th & W - Lt. Harrington and Sargent Jackson from PSA 305 will conduct a one-hour security walk covering 3 blocks in the 10th to 13th Street neighborhood.
- 13th Street, 12th Place and 12th Street from Florida to W will be covered in this first walk – other sections of the neighborhood will be scheduled for a later date – additional block selections will be determined by interest. Come and learn safety precautions you can take to reduce opportunities for crime!
- 8:30 – 9:30 Open to all residents in the 10 to 13 neighborhood -- Meet and Greet Lt. Harrington, Sargent Jackson and others from PSA 305 as well as your neighbors at Ulah Bistro (1214 U Street), upstairs in the lounge area. This is a great opportunity to talk one-on-one with Lt. Harrington, share your concerns and discuss some new strategies for reducing crime in the 10 to 13 neighborhood.
